My Bakers Box (St. Patrick's Day) Baking Supplies Review, February 2015

Brace yourself....there's going to be a LOT of green in this review!  More than any other subscription I've run across, My Bakers Box can be counted on to get you in the mood for the upcoming holiday or season. Arriving in the middle of each month, these boxes are nicely timed so that you usually have a full month to enjoy the festive theme. No surprise that February's box is all about St. Pat's Day.

My first review contained all the subscription details for My Bakers Box.  The contents of February's box were wrapped in pretty green tissue and sealed with a MBB logo sticker.

The information card lists the enclosed items on one side and introduces the theme on the other side with a few ideas about ways to use the things in the box, like making Pot o' Gold or shamrock cookies and St. Patrick's themed cupcakes.

Here's a look at all the box contents which are clearly designed to help us celebrate the greenest of all days!

The photo does not do justice to how cute these green chevron striped treat bags are. Unfortunately, my camera does not represent certain greens very well. The color is not chartreuse but a grassy green.

There is a package of Merckens Green Confectionery Coating in the form of light green candy discs.  They are melting chocolates and the card suggests using them for dipped pretzel sticks.  There are photos and instructions on how to make these on MBB's Facebook page and on their blog (which, by the way, is full of delectable looking recipes).

There is a lot of cookie inspiration in this box including two metal cookie cutters.  It took me a few minutes to figure out what the larger one is....a pot o' gold....o' course! I like that My Bakers Box always sends good quality metal cookie cutters and not the cheap plastic ones (which get immediately tossed into my give-away box any time they enter this house). There is also a card with a photo of the Pot O' Gold cookies and a recipe for "No Fail Sugar Cookies" on the back.

They have included two more items to help embellish the pot o' gold cookies...a generously sized container of yellow sugar crystals (to make the gold in the pot) and a small package of Rainbow Sugar Dec Ons.  Unfortunately, I couldn't show a good photo of these since I learned with the last My Bakers Box that these can't be easily re-packaged once they are unwrapped. Trust me though...they are adorable.  Just wish there were more than six of them.  Who makes just SIX cookies?

I love these "Shamrock Quins", tiny green shamrock-shaped sprinkles to decorate cupcakes, cookies or cake.  Too cute!

In addition to the chevron treat bags, there is even more packaging cuteness...matching green chevron baking cups and "Happy St. Patrick's Day!" stickers for sealing the bags.

It probably would never have occurred to me to do any St. Patrick's Day related baking but with this box, how can I not????  As a person with an extensive collection of cookie cutters, decorations and other baking decor items, I did not think there was much that My Bakers Box could send that I didn't already have.  But they are very good at sourcing unique seasonal and holiday baking items that aren't easy to find.  So far, the only duplicate for me is the small shamrock cookie cutter.

You must admit....this box is definitely a "10" on the cuteness scale!  If you look back at some older MBB reviews, that seems to be the case with almost every box they send.  I am particularly looking forward to their Easter box since that's one of the seasons that most inspires me to bake.

If you like to make your own baked treats, check out My Bakers Box for some fun seasonal and upcoming holiday inspiration!
