Sudsy Box did a good job of reflecting the holiday season in their December box. This month's shipment included three 4 oz. soaps, a lip balm and a couple of Andes mints. As always, the products arrived in a small branded cardboard box.
Sudsy Boxes are not for the faint of nose. They usually have very strong scents that are apparent even before the box is opened. This particular box arrived at my P.O. box and was placed in one of their lockers along with several other boxes. When I opened the door, I knew immediately that a Sudsy Box had arrived....the scent was that strong!
The information card gives the name of each item, its retail price and a brief description that includes key ingredients.
The overwhelming scent of peppermint in this box comes from this bar of "Rosemary Peppermint" soap. There are other ingredients but strong peppermint is clearly dominant. I am hoping this one will calm down a little in the shower. If not, it will certainly serve the purpose of clearing a stuffy head!
The second soap also pays homage to the season with its "Balsam Fir" scent. This dark green soap has a fresh woodsy scent and the card says it lathers well and is super moisturizing. I think this might be a good hand soap for the kitchen sink.
The third soap is by far the mildest. It is "Honey Almond Oatmeal" which is a repeat from the June Sudsy Box. This has a light pleasant scent but is saturated with peppermint at the moment. This is suitable for the bath and will be enjoyable on its own once it is separated from the Rosemary Peppermint soap for a few days. I love almond scents so am hoping the peppermint will fade away and allow the honey and almond to emerge from this one.
The bonus item this month is a Glossy Lip Balm in....wait for it....PEPPERMINT! Are you sensing a theme in this box? Fortunately, the scent of this is much lighter and much more tolerable than the Rosemary Peppermint soap.
A little red and green cheer in the form of two Andes mints was included. They too will need a while to breathe outside the box to escape the peppermint nose monster. (Even though they are mints, I'm not going to risk a mouthful of soapy peppermint flavor!)
Like quarreling children, I think I'm going to have to separate the three soaps and put them in different rooms for a few days. Maybe then I can get a better sense of what the second two soaps actually smell like. I have a feeling I'm going to especially enjoy the Balsam Fir.
If you would like to try Sudsy Box, use code DEC20 to get 20% off your first box. I believe the next box will be shipped in February between the 15th and the 20th so if you get your order in before the 15th, you should receive that box. These are really nice artisan soaps that would also make great gifts. If you're interested in trying any of these products a la carte, check out Heidi's Artisan Soap where you can purchase them individually.
Happy Holidays!
