Sudsy Box Soap Subscription Review, June 2014 + 20% Discount Code!

I haven't seen a lot of subscription boxes that do soap well but one that does is Sudsy Box. They are a bi-monthly service that sends three handcrafted soaps (Heidi's Artisan Soaps) and a free sample of a bath or body product. Their all natural soaps are made with olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and essential oils which produce rich lather and have luxurious skin moisturizing properties.

Sudsy Boxes are delivered six times a year and are timed to arrive mostly before major holidays.  The soaps are themed for the season of the shipment.  Shipments are made in February, April, June, August, October and December.  Orders received by the 15th of a shipping month are shipped between the 15th and 20th of that month.

Sudsy Box offers three subscription plans, bi-monthly for $20, half year for $57 (save 5%) and full year for $100 (get a box free) with free shipping on all plans.  Plans renew automatically and you can cancel at any time.

The June Sudsy Box arrived in a plain cardboard box with three soaps and a package of bath salts packed in pink tissue paper and pink crinkle shreds.

A slip of handmade "lotka" paper (made in the highlands of Nepal) inside gives all the information about the soaps.  This paper is handmade and embedded with tiny wildflower seeds so you can plant it and see what sprouts!  The same paper is used to wrap the soaps so I'll have a bit of planting to do once these soaps are opened.

The label on each soap says "Heidi's Artisan Soap" and "All Natural Handcrafted Artisan Soap".  The first one is Lemon Delight Soap which is a yellow bar of soap with a medium strong lemony smell.  (I just realized I should have taken the paper off these soaps to photograph them; oh well, maybe next time!)

The second 4 oz. bar of soap is Summer Days which is also a yellow soap with a citronella/lime scent infused with annatto seeds.  I'm not loving this scent in a bath soap but maybe I'll change my mind when it's actually being used.

The third soap is Honey Almond Oatmeal, a natural colored soap that contains finely ground oats to soothe your skin and honey to help seal in moisture.  This gentle moisturizing soap contains sweet almond oil and produces a great lather.  The scent is very subtle and I think I'll enjoy this one the most of the three.

The gift item in this box is a single use package of Dead Sea Bath Salts called "Uplifting". These salts are scented with eucalyptus and spearmint essential oils and are said to cleanse and detoxify.

You can also purchase individual soaps and other products in their on-line store.  The full size soaps are $6 but right now they have a half price sale on the Cedarwood Lavender soaps which are a really great buy at only $3 per bar!  Use code SHIP for free shipping on orders over $50.

I love artisan small batch soaps so am looking forward to trying these and also to seeing what they send in August.  The all natural aspect of these soaps is appealing and they do a good job of presentation.

If you'd like to try Sudsy Box, use code SUMMER20 at checkout for a 20% discount. This is good on bi-monthly and half year memberships.  I think these would make great gifts as well as a luxury indulgence for yourself!
