Box O' Munch Snack Subscription Review, January 2015 + 30% Discount Code!

The start of a new year seems like a great time to scout out fun and interesting new sub boxes.  Box O' Munch is a new snack subscription that offers three tempting plans - Classic, Healthy or Chocolatey. They were nice enough to send me the Classic box for review...tough job but somebody has to do it!  By the way, this is not one of those boxes whose mission is to introduce you to foreign snacks. (If you have subscribed to other snack services, you've probably suffered through some of the extremely weird items they send.) These are mostly familiar brands and snacks with nothing really off the wall.

Once you have chosen the type of snack box you want, you can also choose whether you want the standard, peanut free or kosher version of that box.  Box O' Munch offers four pricing plans with progressive discounts for longer terms.  Prices are somewhat higher for the Healthy and Chocolatey boxes but stick around, there is a GREAT discount coming at the end of this post!  Pricing plans for the three box types are as follows:

Classic

Month to Month - $20
3 Month Prepay - $58
6 Month Prepay - $110
12 Month Prepay - $215

Healthy

Month to Month - $29.99
3 Month Prepay - $85
6 Month Prepay - $165
12 Month Prepay - $315

Chocolatey

Month to Month - $29.99
3 Month Prepay - $87
6 Month Prepay - $170
12 Month Prepay - $315

Now let's see what's in the big two and a half pound box that I received!  My snacks were inside a plain cardboard box wrapped in navy and orange tissue paper.

I was immediately impressed with the sheer number of snacks in this box....20 to be exact! Speaking only for myself of course, this is easily enough to last for a month. There is also a really nice mix of sweet, savory and healthy snacks; I am definitely not going to be bored.

There are two boxes of Bachman Pretzel Sticks.  I think these are intended to be single servings but each box  holds enough to last me for at least two or three snack sessions.

Next are two Quaker Chewy Granola bars, one in Chocolate Chip flavor and the other in Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip.  So far, so good!

This next bar is a big hit with me....Peanut Chews from Goldenberg's.  Although I'd never tasted this before, it combines peanuts with dark chocolate.  There are six little pieces that taste somewhat like a Snickers bar except with dark chocolate and a touch of honey. Love this candy!  (If Box O' Munch ever gives us the opportunity to ask for specific items, I'll be requesting this one in every box!)

There is a package of Premium White Cheddar Popcorn from Utz.  I'm not familiar with this brand but you can't really go wrong with popcorn and cheese.

There are three Kellogg's Nutri Grain bars which are a nice healthy addition to the box.  I received one each in Strawberry, Apple Cinnamon and Blueberry.

One of my favorite snacks is plain old Original Corn Nuts.  Why don't I have these more often?  There is also a single serve container of Skippy Natural Singles Creamy Peanut Butter. (I told someone recently that I'd probably be dead if it weren't for apples and peanut butter!)

Another favorite of mine is nuts in almost any form.  There are two green bags of Emerald snack nuts, one is Dry Roasted Almonds and the other is Sea Salt & Pepper Cashews.

More chocolate covered peanuts!  This is a package of milk chocolate covered peanuts from Fisher.  I usually prefer dark to milk chocolate but in the interest of research, I'll take one for the team.  (Poor me!)

Considering what they cost in the grocery store, I was impressed to find FOUR Clif Bars in my box. Two are White Chocolate Macadamia Nut and the other two are Blueberry Crisp.  I consider these to be luxuries!

Last but certainly not least are two single serve mini bags of Orville Redenbacher's popcorn. Popcorn is always welcome in my house!

So there you have it for the Classic Box O' Munch.  What I really loved about this box was the variety and quantity of tasty snacks. Yes, you can buy quite a few of these brands at the grocery store but to me it's a luxury to NOT have to purchase the full size box of each one....making it possible to have a different snack every day.  It's also nice to have such a great mix just magically arrive on my doorstep rather than trying to seek all these brands out myself.

Now for the really good news!  The folks at Box O' Munch have been kind enough to provide a custom coupon code for my readers.  Use the code LONESTAR at checkout for 30% off your order.  This works on any length plan which is an incredible deal! Example: If you sign up for the annual plan, the discount is $64.50 for a total of $150.50, making each box only $12.54. (I believe there is a $5.50 per month shipping charge.) Take another look above at everything you get for that!!

I don't know how long this very generous deal will last so if you're interested, jump on it now. I think you'll be as impressed as I was with what you receive.  Do something nice for your tummy and check out Box O' Munch!

Snack happy,

Cheryl

P.S.  You can also gift these boxes.  I think any college student would be thrilled to get one or more of these!
